Other photos from our spring 2007 trip, out and about in Barcelona.
Greg and Patty on the beach of Barcelonetta.
The Barcelona Maritime Museum was an unexpected joy. It was filled with ship models such as this one.
In order to sell their designs to monarchs of the day, shipbuilders would create models like this one to show them exactly what they'd be getting for their investment.
This is a full size recreation of a many-oared galley. A video presented up on deck was particularly disturbing in its description of life for a galley slave. They said you could smell one of these babies coming long before you'd see it.
A model of the early city and port of Barcelona.
An early wooden submarine.
Patty with her friends Olga and Fernando in front of a wild sculpture on the beach.
I always take pictures of sculpture that catches my eye. I guess my eye is most often drawn to the beauty of the female form.
The facade of the building across from our hotel window.
Finally, some buildings NOT designed by Gaudí. The city was full of beautiful architecture.
