I’m back from holiday adventures. Madam Musing, being Jewish, has often had a difficult time at Christmas. Christmas is just so Christian. Here’s one blogger’s description of the situation.
It can seem that the whole world is Christian at this time of year. So this year rather than moping around the house and maybe taking in a movie or two while it seemed like all the rest of the world was celebrating and having a fun time, we decided to take off for Hawaii. Specifically, we went to the north shore of Oahu where Scott, a college friend of Madam Musing, has a fantastic house and guest house. It was the perfect antidote to the holiday blues. Warm days, beautiful beaches, good eats, a bit of kayaking. We return refreshed and reinvigorated for the new year.
Here are some pictures from the trip. The first is Madam Musing and Scott at Waikiki with Diamond Head in the background. Then the Couple Musing at the same spot. Third is the fantastic dinner party Scott threw for his friends and family. Then there’s MM walking along the beach at Waimea. Finally some of the famous north shore surfers in action.
