Like last week's vase, this bowl features strong, rough, unglazed finger marks. I thought it would look sharp to contrast those marks with a smoothly glazed interior. So I made as wide a rim as I could without having it collapse on the wheel. Then after it dried a bit I attacked it with my fingers. At the same time, to make the glaze smoother, I painted some slip of less rough clay into the interior of the bowl. I think it came out very well.
It's funny. At my last sale, I had many people say wonderful things about how lovely this bowl was. But nobody actually wanted to put their money down and take it home.
