I was flying back to Oakland from New York not too long ago and I took these pictures from the plane's window. They turned out pretty well after some freshening up with Photoshop. I've always admired how interesting the land looks from a plane at 35,000 feet. This time I finally remembered to take my camera along . Fortunately, this was a late afternoon flight so I got some great sun and shadows. The Sierra Nevada showpack was particularly dramatic. And at the very end of the flight, I realilzed that I should probably be able to see Yosemite somewhere below. Sure enough, I was able to find Half Dome just before it slipped from view.
